Off the Mat

Embodying Yoga in Daily Life

Yoga is more than movement.

It is a practice of paying attention, a way of meeting yourself, your relationships, and the world around you with greater awareness, compassion, and intention.

This six-week course was created to help you carry the principles of yoga beyond the mat and into your everyday life. Through weekly practices, guided meditations, reflections, and simple home practices, you'll explore how yoga can become a way of living rather than something you simply do.

Each week introduces a different theme, weaving together physical practice with yogic philosophy and practical ways to embody these teachings beyond the mat.

Week One

Rooted in Presence: The Foundation of Practice
Ahimsa & Awareness

Begin by cultivating a sense of grounding and self-awareness. Through the practice of ahimsa (non-harming), we'll explore how presence and compassion toward ourselves become the foundation for every aspect of yoga.

Week Two

Flow with Life: Embracing Change
Aparigraha & Trust

Life is constantly changing. This week invites you to soften your grip, embrace uncertainty, and practice aparigraha (non-attachment), discovering greater ease, trust, and resilience along the way.

Week Three

Nourish from Within: Mindful Consumption
Saucha & Self-Care

Explore the many ways we nourish ourselves. Not only through food, but through our thoughts, relationships, environment, and daily habits. Guided by saucha (purity), we'll cultivate practices that support clarity, vitality, and wellbeing.

Week Four

Heart as Home: Connection & Compassion
Isvara Pranidhana & Love

When we soften into the heart, we deepen our capacity for connection with ourselves, with others, and with something greater than ourselves. Through Isvara Pranidhana (surrender), we'll explore trust, love, and letting life unfold with grace.

Week Five

Inner Stillness: Listening Inward
Svadhyaya & Intuition

The wisdom we seek often arises in moments of quiet. This week centers on svadhyaya (self-study), inviting you to slow down, reflect, and strengthen your relationship with your own inner guidance.

Week Six

Living Yoga: Integration & Wholeness
Santosha & Embodiment

Our final week is an invitation to weave these practices into daily life. Through santosha (contentment), we'll reflect on what we've learned and explore how yoga becomes a lifelong practice of presence, gratitude, and wholehearted living.

Move through the course at your own pace. While each week builds upon the last, there is no perfect timeline. Return to the practices often, revisit the lessons as needed, and allow them to unfold in your own life.

My hope is that these six weeks become the beginning of a relationship with yoga that extends far beyond the mat—one rooted in awareness, guided by intention, and woven into the way you move through the world.
